Hyman Paper & Chemical Company first opened on December 1, 1979 with just two employees, Robert Hyman and his wife Audrey, and a 3,000 square-foot warehouse with a tiny office. Robert would make sales calls in the morning and deliveries in the afternoon while his wife would answer the phones. Back then it was just Hyman Paper Company as the company only sold paper goods and can liners. It was not until 1984 that Robert Hyman teamed up with former company vice president Jesse James, who brought along the chemical and equipment side of the business. Today Hyman Paper & Chemical Company has a 35,000 square-foot facility and stocks more than 9,000 institutional products with close to 20,000 products available for order.
